- What to See & Do

As well as enjoying Stockholm’s fresh air, its general beauty and many quality restaurants, most of its tourist attractions can be found in the form of its many museums and famous buildings.

Those worth seeing most include the popular Vasa Museum (Vasamuseet - the world’s only surviving 17th-century ship), the Royal Palace (Kungliga Slottet), the Museum of National Antiquities (Historiska Museet), the Museum of Medieval Stockholm (Medeltidsmuseet), the Stockholm City Museum, the Nobel Museum (featuring the background and work of all Nobel prize winners) and also the City Hall (Stadshuset).

A good way to get an overview of the city is by taking a boat tour from the harbour.

Children may enjoy a trip to Skansen, the oldest open-air museum in the world which also features a zoological park.

Lonely Planet’s list of sights and attractions in Stockholm provides further details on what to see and do in Stockholm while you are there.
